What to Expect
The Fränkisches Bierfest takes place in the stunning setting of the Nürnberger Burggraben (castle moat). Now in its 27th year, the festival transforms the castle moat into what visitors call "Europe's longest beer garden." Forty local breweries serve more than 100 different beers across the five-day event. Family-friendly with dedicated children's programming.
The Story
The Franken region of northern Bavaria is one of Germany's densest brewing regions, with hundreds of small breweries. The Fränkisches Bierfest was created in 1999 to showcase this incredible brewing heritage — 40+ breweries, 100+ beers, all in the shadow of Nuremberg Castle. The festival has grown from a small gathering to one of the largest regional beer events in Germany.
