What to Expect
The Regensburger Maidult runs from May 21 to June 1, 2026. It combines a Bavarian folk festival with market stalls and carnival rides, all within walking distance of Regensburg's stunning UNESCO-listed medieval old town — one of the best-preserved in Germany.
The Story
Regensburg has been a trading center since Roman times, and its Dulten (traditional markets) date back centuries. The city's position at a crossing point of the Danube made it a natural gathering place for traders and travelers. The Maidult marks the start of the fair season in the Upper Palatinate region.
