What to Expect
The Walberlafest is one of the oldest spring festivals in Franconia, held on the Ehrenbürg mountain (known as 'Berg der Franken') near Kirchehrenbach. The festival has evolved from a church fair in the early 19th century into a major regional beer festival. In 2026, the festival is extended to four days (April 30 - May 3) because May 1 falls on a Friday, with the traditional beer tapping moved up to Thursday, April 30. Local breweries from Franconian Switzerland serve their beers on site, and the festival attracts thousands of visitors who hike up the mountain to enjoy the scenic setting, beer, and traditional food.
