Fest der Blasmusik und Tracht is Festring München e.V.'s free Sunday-afternoon program of brass music and Tracht folk costume, staged inside the Biergarten am Viktualienmarkt in Munich's Altstadt. The 2026 edition runs Sunday 21 June from 12:00 to around 18:00, with a built-in rain-backup date of 28 June if the weather doesn't cooperate. There's no gate and no ticket — admission is free (Zutritt frei) — and visitors simply order a Maß at the beer garden's usual taps while the program plays out around them. It falls one day after, and is entirely separate from, the biennial Münchner Brauertag guild ceremony held on Marienplatz.
The 2026 lineup features the Oktoberfestmusikanten and the Grünbachtaler Musikanten, Tracht groups performing Schuhplattler, and moderation by Bayerischer Rundfunk's Georg Ried. It's an annual fixture on Festring München's calendar, with a 2024 edition having run 16 June (and its own 23 June rain-backup date), and it's one of several smaller folk-tradition programs the club runs throughout the year, alongside its much larger Oktoberfest brewery procession and costume-and-riflemen's parade.
