Quick answer
Frühlingsfest Deggendorf is a volksfest in Deggendorf, Bavaria. It runs from Apr 24 – May 3, 2026. VdK-organized spring fair on Festplatz Ackerloh — two tents, rides, and a parade from the Oberer Stadtplatz.
VdK spring Volksfest on Festplatz Ackerloh — two Festzelte, rides, parade opener, and nightly music in Deggendorf.
Deggendorf's Frühlingsfest runs 24 April–3 May 2026 at Festplatz Ackerloh, organized by the local Deggendorf chapter of Sozialverband VdK Bayern — a Bavaria-wide social-welfare and disability-advocacy association, not a city tourism office. The 2026 program opens with a Trachten and brewery-wagon parade from the Oberer Stadtplatz to the grounds, then an Aldersbacher keg-tapping in Festzelt Widmann and a second Weißbierzelt with its own nightly bands. Expect family, senior, children's, and VdK-member discount afternoons, fireworks around 22:00 on 28 April, and a mid-run brewery switch to the local Deggendorfer Brauhaus. Table reservations go through the tent operators directly — Festzelt Widmann at 0170/9032018, Weißbierzelt at 0160/3059218.
The full story
Frühlingsfest Deggendorf turns Festplatz Ackerloh into a ten-day spring Volksfest each year, organized by the Deggendorf chapter (Ortsverband) of Sozialverband VdK Bayern e.V., a Bavaria-wide social-welfare and disability-advocacy association — this is a grassroots-association event, not a city-branded festival. The 2026 edition runs Friday 24 April through Sunday 3 May and opens with a Trachten-and-brewery-wagon parade from the Oberer Stadtplatz to the fairground, followed by a ceremonial Aldersbacher keg-tapping in Festzelt Widmann. A second tent, the Weißbierzelt, runs its own nightly music lineup from opening night.
The ten days are built around a sequence of themed discount afternoons: Familiennachmittag on Saturday 25 April and Saturday 2 May (up to 30% off selected food and drinks), a Seniorennachmittag on Tuesday 28 April, a Kindernachmittag with discounted rides on Wednesday 29 April, and a VdK-Nachmittag for association members. Fireworks light up the fairground around 22:00 on Tuesday 28 April. On Wednesday 29 April, Festzelt Widmann switches its beer from Aldersbacher to Deggendorfer Brauhaus, a small local brewery founded in 2019, giving the back half of the festival a distinctly local pour. Friday 1 May brings a dedicated Familientag with a children's stage program — clown, face-painting, and dance-school performances — in the Weißbierzelt from 11:30 to 15:30.
The closing Sunday pairs a folk-music afternoon in Festzelt Widmann with an unusual capstone: a ticketed international kickboxing card, Bavaria vs. Poland, inside the Weißbierzelt. Day tickets are €8.50 at the door only; a €39.50 VIP package (ringside seat plus breakfast) is available by online reservation only.
There is no general gate fee for the Festplatz; visitors pay only for food, drinks, rides, and the separately ticketed kickboxing event. Table reservations run directly through the tent operators — Festzelt Widmann at 0170/9032018, Weißbierzelt at 0160/3059218 — and the organizer publishes dedicated Waldbahn (regional rail) arrival routing for both tents.
Frühlingsfest is one of Bavaria's most common festival names — Nuremberg, Augsburg, Munich, and Weiden in der Oberpfalz all run their own, separately organized Frühlingsfest — so it's worth confirming "Deggendorf" is attached to whichever listing you're reading. The festival's own founding year is unstated; unrelated third-party portals cite conflicting, uncited edition numbers, none of which is used here. A 75th-anniversary event for the local Schützengau Deggendorf shooting-guild federation appears on the festival's Sunday 3 May program as a guest item — that anniversary belongs to the Schützengau, not to the Frühlingsfest. See Frühlingsfest Deggendorf page or explore Lower Bavaria.
