The full story
Flanieren mit Bieren is Erfurt's craft-beer-and-food festival at Zughafen, a former freight-yard site turned creative and culture campus on Zum Güterbahnhof, staged inside Halle 6 alongside the site's resident brewery, Heimathafen – Erfurter Braumanufaktur. The 2026 edition runs Friday 8 May from 16:00 to 22:00 and Saturday 9 May from 12:00 to 22:00. Each day ticket costs 10 € and includes a reusable "Willi" collector's glass, refillable at exhibitor stands rather than using disposable cups; children up to 15 enter free, and a separate ticket is needed for each day attended.
Nearly 40 regional exhibitors pour craft beer alongside wine, gin, coffee specialties, and street food, giving the event a broader "Genussfestival" identity even as beer — and the host brewery specifically — remains the centerpiece. The festival began as a single day on 6 May 2023, with a small exhibitor-only preview the evening before; strong turnout led organizers to expand to a two-day weekend from 2024 onward, a pattern that has held annually through 2025 and into this 2026 edition.
The host brewery's own history is older and separate from the festival's: Heimathafen was founded in 2017 by Jan Schlennstedt, six years before Flanieren mit Bieren's own 2023 launch — a distinction worth keeping straight, since the two are frequently covered together. Parking near the venue is limited, so the roughly 10-minute walk from Erfurt Hauptbahnhof is the easier option for most visitors. See Flanieren mit Bieren Erfurt page or explore Beyond Bavaria.
