The full story

Summermarkt Utting turns the lakeside Summerpark in Utting am Ammersee into a free three-day arts, craft, and culinary market for one weekend each summer. The 2026 edition runs Friday 26 through Sunday 28 June, with the market open Friday–Saturday 14:00–20:00 and Sunday 12:00–19:00, gastronomy and culture running later into the evening. Around 60–70 vendors — many from well beyond Bavaria, including exhibitors from Austria, South Tyrol, Nepal, Madagascar, and Morocco — sell jewelry, textiles, ceramics, and upcycled work, alongside a food lineup built around crepes, falafel, Italian and South Tyrolean specialties, burgers, and regional Ammersee wine and cider rather than a beer-tent programme. Admission to the market and the full culture programme is free; visitors pay only for what they eat, drink, or buy.

The Summerpark site itself carries an older story than the market does: around 1891 it was home to Restaurant Summer, one of the Ammersee's leading lakeside inns, complete with its own beer garden, before it was later rebranded the Bahnhofsrestaurant and eventually became the municipal park it is today — and the market takes its name directly from that old inn. The market itself is a considerably younger addition to the site; its own founding year is unstated.

Evenings bring a free stage programme — touring and regional acts Friday and Saturday from around 20:00, and a Sunday built around Utting's own traditional Blasmusik ensemble before quieter acoustic sets. The Summerpark venue sits directly at the Ammersee steamboat landing and a short walk from Utting's regional rail station, making the market genuinely easy to reach without a car.
